Maison Margiela

In 1988, Belgian upstart Martin Margiela and partner Jenny Meirens established the house that would disrupt and transfigure fashion forever. Conceived with a permanent rebellious streak, the Maison's challenging deconstructivist garments proposed an iconoclastic anonymity that rapidly became unmistakable, with signatures like its four white basting stitches, its cleft Tabi toe, its unconventional runway presentations, and its visible interior structures. In 2014, the label's design was assumed by John Galliano.
