Update! I just tried these on in a size 6.5, and I found them to fit me true to size. I also found them marvelously comfortable on my feet! Me = Smitten with these boots.

I got these as a gift, and yes, they are THE perfect ankle boots that transcend time. They work with every outfit and every style. However, if you have a wider foot or bunion issues on one or both feet, you will most likely need to go up a half size, as they run a bit narrow. Thought this might help in deciding size.
