Created by model and philanthropist Liya Kebede to preserve and support the traditional weavers of her native Ethiopia. Meaning "to bloom" or "to flourish" in Amharic, Lemlem scarves are handmade from natural cotton, rooted in tradition, but woven with a modern touch. Kebede also serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN's World Health Organization as well as having established The Liya Kebede Foundation, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of mothers and children worldwide.
