Born and raised in Los Angeles, influenced and inspired by her mother who learned to sew in an Iranian finishing school. BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in film, painting and sculpture, 1998. Founded artist's collective exploring 3D sculpture, often using fabric as a medium, which eventually evolved into the production

of clothing and wearable objects. Draft No 17 is a limited capsule collection featuring conceptual variations of classic fashion silhouettes. Runs alongside her main high-end women's wear collection, which explores shape, sophisticated construction and couture-inspired finishing. Received the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award in 2005.
