Hello! I'm usually an 8.5, slightly narrow foot... would I be swimming in a 9?

I'm sorry, this might be a appalling question, but how would these babies hold up in the slush? And i'm typically 8.5 but with a narrow foot like Amy above, would you recommend 38 or 39? Thank you!

Charmaine, I'm gonna tell you something my grandma once said which I don't know if it will be helpful at all, but it's kind of funny/true.. You don't see many cows, or other animals, running around with umbrellas, hence leather can hold up in the rain. Also, I am typically an 8.5-9 with an average foot, but wider instep and I took a 39. I also think it depends on how you like to wear your shoes, with the toe up at the end or with some room. I prefer the latter..
