I'd really like to get these - I wear about a 28 in, say, Earnest Sewn's Harlan (or a 27, tightly). I'd normally order the 28 - do you recommend that I go up to 29, or would sizing down to 27 still provide the slightly-baggy fit? Thanks.

Pam and Marian, I would not recommend sizing down because Acne jeans, particular this Hug fit, tends to run small (they do not have any stretch in the material). That being said, the 29's will provide a good fit. I tend to wear a size 27 in Acne's: when I tried the 27's on, they fit skinny from the knee down and baggy from the knee up. When I tried the 28's, they were baggy all over, which lends to a cool loose-all-over fit. So it all depends on how you want them to look (they look great either way.) I will say that even if you go for just one size up, they do stretch out a bit with wear, particularly in the leg. Hope that helps!
