Born in Chile, raised in England, currently residing in Brooklyn. In 1980s London, partnered with John Richmond who introduced her into the prestigious Ravensbourne College of Design, and created the Richmond Cornejo label. Developed a signature brand and consulted for retailers Joseph, Tehen and Jigsaw. Opened Zero + Maria Cornejo in New York, 1998, as an expression of a pure vision which neither adds nor subtracts, but rather acts as a point of departure.
