Totokaelo (TOH-toh-KYE-oh) serves two purposes.

SHOP. We offer a tightly curated selection of clothing from both young and established designers, available for purchase online.

Our goal is to source the strongest artists and thinkers in the fashion world today. We edit the collections to represent our aesthetic, consistently choosing pieces that are timeless, versatile, and well crafted.

Because our return and shipping policies mirror larger ecommerce entities, you can take a risk on an unknown designer without worrying about boutiques’ store-credit-only policies.

If you need help determining if an item is right for you, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.

TALK. We encourage and facilitate the free exchange of information through the creation of a private online community of like-minded individuals.

Totokaelo is more than a boutique; it’s a forum for honest feedback and advice. We have designed the site to be user-driven, allowing ample space for comments (both on the blog and each item page) and personal profiles.

Through Totokaelo, you have access to women who share an interest in the same designers. If you’re wondering how a particular item fits, looking for new music, or need a hotel recommendation for an upcoming trip, you can turn to a community with similar tastes to your own.

History

Totokaelo derives from toto caelo, a Latin phrase that means “reaching to the edge of the stars.” It’s a fitting theme for our two stores and online community, which began in 2003 as a small shop in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle.

Totokaelo.com launched in the June of 2008, and in November of this year, we opened our second boutique, Totokaelo, in downtown Seattle.

Impulse and Totokaelo are owned by Jill Wenger. Jill currently lives in Seattle.
